Thee Best-est Everrrrrr

Hmmmm...... Let's seeeee.... when was there a time in my life that I was the best?? How about EVERY DAY! :)
Alright, back to business. I am going to tell you a true story of when I was the best or at my best. Things that I will say, might make some of you readers a little jealous, so I caution you. But if you are feeling a bit adventurous how about you throw caution to the wind and read something worth while, for a change.

I do believe that the time I was at my best was when I had to manage and run our schools International Club. You see, at the beginning of my senior year, at my high school, I ran for International Club President, against a couple somewhat worthy opponents. Let's just say I won by a landslide. Little did I know, my Spanish teacher, who was also the international club sponsor, would be having a baby during my rein as president. With that said, it was all up to mighty Paiten to organize and coordinate all things related to my position, such as, meetings and get-together and the all important international weekend.

International weekend is the main purpose of International Club. It is where we host international students (a.k.a. foreign exchange students) from the surrounding schools. Any member of the club can request that they host a student, but mostly there aren't enough students to go around, because everybody wants to make new friends, so it was mostly first come first serve. Although I did see a few elbows thrown to secure a student, an occasional elbow might have come from me, but who is to know?

So these were the tasks that I was to complete before international weekend. I was to contact all surrounding schools (in a 50 mile radius) and request that I have the means to contact their exchange students and request that they come to our gathering. Do you know how hard it is to get information on foreign exchange students? It's very very VERY hard. I had to make sure that all of the students that had RSVP'd to our little shindig had a place to sleep and a host family to love them (for the weekend).  I also had to plan what we all would be doing during international weekend and my teacher wanted a time scheduled itinerary. I had to schedule and book restaurants where we would be eating. I had to go to the store and purchase (with the clubs money) all the snack food and things of that nature.

But no matter how hard I worked and how tedious most of the tasks were, it was all worth it in the end. On international weekend, nothing went wrong, not one thing. Everyone had a great time and we all made new friends. And I think that was when I was the best ever!!
